On Thursday, 10/08/2023, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology participated in an awareness-rising session about technical education opportunities in the College and about the inclusion of females, especially disabled females, as part of a technical and vocational education and training (TVET) project that considers genders and inclusiveness in the West Bank, GRIT project. The Lutheran World Federation implemented the project in partnership with the Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) and is funded by the Canadian government.

The session was held in the Tulkarm Governate building and was attended by Mr. Rifat Theyab, acting general director of development and planning; and Miss. Reada Awwad, director of the gender department in Tulkarm; The Colleges representatives, Eng. Alaa Darwish, Studies and Projects Department coordinator and head of An-Najah Training and Rehabilitation Center; Mr. Assad Awad, Public Relations and Employment Department coordinator; Mr. Anan Marrar, representative for the GRIT project team; and numerous representatives of women organizations in public and private sectors on the governate level.

The Colleges specializations were introduced during the session, as well as the programs the GRIT project includes. The project aims to empower and support female youth, especially disabled ones, to register for technical and vocational education programs, to get familiar with the scholarships that the program offers, to know the terms of getting these scholarships, and to know the application process.
