An-Najah Centre for Training and Agricultural Research was established in 2014, following an in-depth study of market needs conducted by the Local Employment Centre in Nablus Governorate. The college won the bid to establish a specialised agricultural centre with full funding from the European Union and under the supervision of the German development agency (GIZ).
The centre operates as an agricultural field school in the An-Nassariya area of Nablus, on land owned by An-Najah National University in the Jordan Valley. It spans 72 dunums, of which 11 dunums are used by An-Najah National Community College and are distributed across plastic greenhouses, a fish pond, and open-field cultivation—the first facility of its kind in the governorate.
The centre offers a hands-on agricultural training programme that runs for a full growing season. Trainees follow the crop through its various growth stages and the related pest-control procedures, mastering the principles of integrated pest management, gaining greater control over local field conditions, and learning to use modern agricultural technology.
Training lasts one academic year, after which participants graduate as skilled agricultural technicians holding a college certificate accredited by the Palestinian Ministry of Labour. The centre also provides a range of short-term agricultural training services and is equipped with an advanced weather station.
