An-Najah Community College Hosts Workshop on the Role of the Anti-Corruption Commission in Promoting Integrity and Transparency
An-Najah Community College hosted a specialized training workshop on the role and functions of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission. The workshop was organized in coordination with Ms. Rola Kabbaji, Director of the Policy Department at the Commission, and was delivered by Mr. Osama Al-Saadi, Head of the Legal Affairs Unit. The event saw wide participation from the College’s students, along with several members of the academic staff.
During the workshop, Mr. Al-Saadi provided an overview of the Commission’s mandate and institutional framework, highlighting its mission to promote the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability. He also addressed the Commission’s role in protecting public funds and combating various forms of administrative and financial corruption.
The session included a detailed explanation of corruption-related offenses, including bribery, abuse of public office, misuse of authority, illicit enrichment, forgery, and other practices criminalized under the law.
Mr. Al-Saadi also outlined the procedures for submitting reports or complaints to the Anti-Corruption Commission, explaining the official reporting channels and the legal safeguards available to complainants and whistleblowers, including confidentiality and protection measures. He further discussed the procedures followed in reviewing complaints, conducting investigations, and referring substantiated cases to the competent judicial authorities.
He emphasized the important role of youth and university students in promoting a culture of integrity and rejecting corruption, stressing the need to strengthen legal awareness among students and empower them with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, as they represent key partners in building a society founded on justice and the rule of law.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Amer Massad, Dean of Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology and An-Najah Community College; Mr. Majed Amous, Head of the Department at An-Najah Community College; Mr. Rabah Al-Talawi; and Ms. Sarab Al-Sayeh, Lecturer at the College. The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Rola Kabbaji, Director of the Policy Department at the Anti-Corruption Commission.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants emphasized the importance of such initiatives in raising students’ awareness of the risks of corruption and its negative impact on society and sustainable development.
