Under the Patronage of H.E. Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology Organizes Career Day for Its Graduates
Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of An-Najah National University and Chairman of the Board of Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, and in the presence of Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of An-Najah National University, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology organized its annual Career Day on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The event brought together a wide range of local companies, graduates from across the College’s programs, and a distinguished delegation from the Ministry of Labor. The activities took place in the College’s main auditorium.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Zaid expressed his delight at attending the event, welcoming company representatives and graduates. He highlighted An-Najah’s achievements in global university rankings, including ranking 82nd worldwide in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, 77th in the SDG on Quality Education, and 34th in the SDG on Partnerships for the Goals, as well as being the top and only Palestinian university listed by US News. He added that An-Najah is currently leading a major initiative to strengthen student and graduate employability by providing training programs, interview opportunities, and entrepreneurial support through An- Najah Innovation Park, which offers a business incubator, training academy, and Technology Transfer Office.
Prof. Zaid praised Hisham Hijjawi College for its notable progress and accomplishments in recent years, stressing that Career Day exemplifies the strong partnership between the College, the labor market, and institutions across the public and private sectors.
Dr. Amer Massad, Dean of Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, also welcomed attendees, describing Career Day as a bridge between students, graduates, and the labor market. He emphasized that the College’s role extends beyond classroom and lab instruction, aiming to empower students to integrate into professional environments and acquire the skills and knowledge needed to compete and innovate. He expressed gratitude to the companies and institutions participating in the event.
Speaking on behalf of the private sector, Eng. Oday Al-Omari, Operations Manager at the National Carton Industry Company, thanked An-Najah University and Hisham Hijjawi College for this distinguished initiative. He noted that the event provides companies with access to highly qualified graduates and offers graduates real employment opportunities. He praised the College for preparing graduates who possess the practical skills demanded by today’s job market.
The opening ceremony also included the honoring of participating companies in recognition of their contributions. Prof. Zaid and Dr. Massad presented awards to company representatives before launching several hours of direct interviews between graduates and employers, which saw strong engagement from both sides.
On the sidelines of the event, Prof. Zaid toured the College’s laboratories and workshops, where he viewed outstanding student projects across different specializations. The tour also included a visit to the College’s Technical Center for Vehicle Inspection.
