In line with its ongoing commitment to developing its academic and administrative staff and keeping pace with advancements in education and technology, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology at An-Najah National University participated in the KNX Basic Course training program. The course was held at the KNX Zone Training Center in Cairo, Egypt, from July 18–27, 2025.

The College was represented by Eng. Mohammad Zahlan, Head of Workshops and Laboratories, and Eng. Muneef Qaffaf, Faculty Member, who completed the training successfully, gaining both theoretical and practical expertise in globally recognized KNX smart building systems.

As a result of this achievement, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology has officially been certified as a KNX Partner by the KNX International Organization. This milestone positions the College as a regional academic and technical reference in smart control systems, enabling it to collaborate on local and international training initiatives and development projects. It also paves the way for the College to introduce accredited programs and courses related to smart building technologies.

The training aimed to provide comprehensive knowledge of KNX smart building control systems, including practical exercises on designing and programming KNX systems using specialized tools such as the ETS software. It also prepared participants to pass the internationally recognized KNX certification exam.

Course modules covered key areas including: an introduction to smart building systems and modern control technologies; KNX protocols and core components; hands-on projects in building and programming smart building systems; and the design of an integrated project using KNX technologies via the ETS platform.

At the conclusion of the training, Eng. Zahlan and Eng. Qaffaf successfully passed the official KNX International exam, earning the prestigious KNX Partner Certificate. This international accreditation authorizes holders to design and implement KNX systems worldwide, further enhancing the College’s reputation and expertise in advanced smart building technologies.
