The Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology at An-Najah National University took part in a specialized training course on electric and hybrid vehicle technology, organized for representatives of educational and technical institutions in Palestine. The program was supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ – Palestine) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacities of technical staff in the vocational education and training sector. The training was held at the Volt Training Academy in Jordan from July 22–30, 2025.

Representing Hisham Hijjawi College were Mr. Mousa Jadallah and Mr. Rami Hannani. The 30-hour training program focused on both technical and practical aspects of electric and hybrid vehicle technology, reflecting global trends toward green transformation and clean energy, and helping Palestinian institutions align with the latest technological developments and integrate them into curricula and programs.

Dr. Amer Massad, Dean of Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, emphasized that this participation falls within the College’s strategic approach of investing in the development of its academic, technical, and administrative staff, who serve as the cornerstone of advancing the quality of vocational and technical education. He noted that strengthening the practical and technical expertise of staff directly improves educational outcomes and enhances the College’s ability to equip students with the modern skills demanded by today’s labor market—particularly in rapidly evolving sectors such as electric vehicles and clean energy.

Mr. Alaa Darwish, Coordinator of the Studies and Projects Department at the College, highlighted that the training aligns with the College’s strategic vision of enhancing the efficiency of academic and technical staff by providing them with the latest knowledge and hands-on expertise in advanced technologies. He added that such programs serve as a genuine driver for the development of vocational education in Palestine. Mr. Darwish also expressed appreciation for the support of GIZ, stressing that sustained partnerships of this kind play a vital role in building the capacities of educational institutions and preparing them to keep pace with global technological transformations.
