Hisham Hijjawi College Empowers Future Tech Leaders with Advanced Networking and Information Security Training

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, An-Najah Center for Training and Rehabilitation at Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, successfully concluded a 125-hour course on Networking, Information Security, and Smart Systems. The course was conducted as part of the Thabari (GRIT) project, managed by the World Lutheran Federation in partnership with the Canadian Lutheran World Relief, and funded by the Government of Canada.
This intensive training program involved a group of graduates and students from various disciplines, particularly those specializing in communication and computer engineering. The course, led by expert faculty members from Hisham Hijjawi College, provided participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in networks, information security, and smart systems.
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Amer Masad, Dean of Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology; Mr. Alaa Darwish, Head of An-Najah Center for Training and Rehabilitation and Coordinator of the Studies and Projects Unit; and course trainers, Eng. Mohammad Zahlan, Head of the Laboratories Department, and Eng. Muneef Qaffaf, lecturer at the college.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs of Palestine, followed by welcoming remarks from Dr. Masad. He emphasized the significance of the course topics and underscored the college's commitment to offering specialized training that meets the evolving needs of the job market. Dr. Masad noted the exceptional qualifications of the college’s faculty and its ability to deliver high-quality, market-relevant training.
Mr. Darwish highlighted the vital role of An-Najah Center for Training and Rehabilitation in providing courses that equip students with the skills required to enhance their employment prospects. He expressed gratitude to the Thabari project for its financial support, noting that the center plans to offer more cutting-edge courses in the near future.
The course trainers, Eng. Zahlan and Eng. Qaffaf, commended the participants for their dedication and active engagement throughout the program, praising their insightful contributions that enriched the learning experience.
Participants also shared their reflections on the course. Salam Nazzal, a telecommunications engineering graduate, expressed her gratitude for the training, emphasizing its relevance to the job market. She shared that the course had already opened new career opportunities for her, leading to a job interview with a major telecommunications company in Palestine. Bana Al-Alool, a computer engineering student, also highlighted the course’s importance, particularly in the field of information security, as it complemented her current studies and broadened her expertise.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the course participants at the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology building.
