Manufacturing and Production Engineering

The Manufacturing and Production Engineering program aims to train technicians in the design, production, and maintenance of industrial production lines. Students also gain expertise in designing and producing a wide range of mechanical components using both computer numerical control (CNC) machines and conventional manufacturing equipment.

The program provides students with hands-on skills in various areas, including:

  • Welding techniques of different types.
  • Computer-aided design (CAD).
  • CNC-based manufacturing processes.
  • Operation of traditional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, and hand tools.
  • Non-cutting manufacturing methods, including casting, molding, and hot and cold forming.
  • Design and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (compressed-air control).
  • Understanding the properties of engineering materials and their applications in producing mechanical assemblies.
Program Duration: Two academic years, with a total of 72 credit hours.

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Design and maintain different types of production lines.
  • Manufacture mechanical parts using both cutting and non-cutting processes.
  • Design and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic circuits (fluid and compressed-air systems).
  • Perform welding with full mastery of all major welding methods.
  • Evaluate the strength and load capacity of engineering materials used in manufacturing.

Graduates of the Manufacturing and Production Engineering program are qualified to work as:

  • Technicians in mechanical engineering laboratories (universities, material hardness testing labs, etc.).
  • Instructors in industrial schools in fields such as turning, milling, metal forming, welding, and mechanics.
  • Production line managers in factories.
  • Skilled technicians in companies specialized in the design, development, maintenance, and manufacturing of production lines.
  • Heads of departments in machine production companies.
