Industrial Automation
The Industrial Automation program is designed to supply the Palestinian and regional labor market with highly skilled technicians specialized in installing, operating, and maintaining industrial control systems and automated machinery. The program focuses on equipping students with advanced competencies in:
- Installation and maintenance of electrical control panels for elevators, pumps, stone-cutting machines, crushers, and olive presses.
- Operation and servicing of machines and production lines used in industrial facilities driven by programmable logic controllers (PLC), hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems (oil- and compressed-air control).
- Designing, assembling, and maintaining automated circuits tailored for diverse industrial applications.
This specialization has also opened wide employment opportunities for graduates in the Gulf region, given the high demand for skilled automation technicians.
Program Duration: Two academic years, with a total of 72 credit hours.
Graduates of the Industrial Automation program will be able to:
- Install, maintain, and operate production lines in industrial facilities.
- Install and maintain elevators and pumping systems.
- Design, install, and maintain both conventional and PLC-based industrial control systems for equipment such as crushers, stone-cutting machines, and olive presses.
- Design, install, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic control systems in industrial plants.
- Create and interpret electrical and control circuit diagrams using computer-based tools.
Graduates are prepared for a wide range of technical roles, including:
- Laboratory technicians in universities, technical institutes, and industrial schools.
- Instructors and trainers in vocational training and rehabilitation centers.
- Maintenance technicians in industrial facilities such as factories, stone-cutting plants, crushers, and olive presses.
- Specialists in the installation and servicing of pumps and elevators.
- Technical sales representatives for electrical equipment and industrial machinery.
- Employees in governmental, non-governmental, and private sector institutions.
